Most people fail to plan until it is too late. As we have seen over the past two years unexpected events can certainly interrupt our lives. Unfortuately, my colleages in the probate area have never been busier. Over the last 27 years I have helped numerous parties with planning their businesses and their estates. The majority of Americans, rely upon a Simple Will if they do not have siginificant assets, substantial business interests, tax issues and real estate interests beyond their regular home.
A Simple Will is a great start for those age 18 and older, even couples or single parents with Minor Children. As my colleagues in the industry indicate, and as I have found, having no Will creates problems well beyond what one would expect, because State law will control what happens to your assets, your children, and your pets if you have not prepared in advance to make sure they are cared for. So start planning your estate today.
